Day 21 - A day of bays....

Another day in Sydney and we spent it with our friends again, this time we hoped on and off the ferries visiting a number of the local bays.   First we caught the tram down to the harbour. 
First stop a quick trip to Manly Bay,  and we dipped our feet in the sea 
Then back in the ferry next stop to Watsons Bay, where we had lunch, took in the views,  including the nudists on a beach 🤭
Back on the ferry and onto Rose Bay  

where we had dinner and said au revoir tk Anthony & Leah 

They had been great tour guides and even better company. 
The final ferry trip of the day meant we saw the harbour lit up and it was stunning. 

 Back at the hotel, the next drama unfolded the battery has gone in the safe, which has my passport , house keys and tablet in it.  so they are going to have to drill it in the morning to get the stuff out.  As we are due to leave in the morning fingers crossed it works .    

Safe breaker anyone ??

Day 30/31- All good things come to an end

Final days of the holiday day 30 we had the morning free in Melbourne so visited the art gallery and immigration museum, very interesting place.  After grabbing lunch and a coffee it was time to leave for the airport to start the long journey home.  Flight 1  Melbourne to Singapore about 7 hours, so I watched Elvis and Maverick again.   After a three hour layover. Flight 2 began Singapore to London - 13 hours.  Managed to get some sleep but not much.  We arrived at Heathrow just after 7 am, and immediately noticed the temperature drop.   And just like that the adventure was over 😪.    Its been an amazing month with lots of memories created.   I would like to thank Lyn for the opportunity to join her on this trip.     So Monday will be back to work and saving for the next holiday.

Day 17 - Been to Hell and back!!

So the day started with rain again which got worse as we ate our breakfast.  We had a couple of things planned for today and given there was suppose to be an improvement on the weather as the day went on we decide to delay the morning activity until lunchtime.   So just chilled in the morning and read.  At lunchtime we set off to the first adventure.   A trip to the Redwood Treewalk.  Yes thats right we walked amongst the trees, yes I still have a fear of heights but this wasn't too bad, the higher walkways were slightly more scary.    After that we then drove 20 minutes to Hells gate,  thermal mud pools and sulphur pools.   It was amazing, once you got use to the smell and our skin felt amazing afterwards.    Once we got back we went out for dinner and then back to the hotel for a moijto.  Tomorrow we have a massive adventure planned, so make sure you check in....

Day 8 - walking towards the cloud.

Started the day with breakfast at the cottage  and then onto Akaroa for a quick coffee and then a walk of about 6.5 k. Absolutely stunning views again the photos won't do it justice.  Then back to Christchurch for dinner at Castros and a gelato.  Off to queenstown tomorrow.
