Day 5 - 2023 begins

Image
We have arrived in Christchurch  and are staying with Lyns in laws.  Bryan and Sam.   No sleep on the plane so suspect we might struggle to stay awake until midnight.    After a quick coffee at the airport did a quick change and then out to lunch.   Blown away by the scenery.  Quick update : we made it to midnight .  Happy New year and best wishes for 2023.

Day 4 final day in Singapore.

Image
So final day in Singapore and we packed it full.   First got the packing done and checked out then down to the Bay front to ride the cable cars.   I would say a quick stop at Starbucks for a coffee , but was very slow service so we had to have it on the go. Finishing by ringing the happiness bells.   Then back to China Town in the daylight still very busy.   Final walk back to the hotel via a bar and now at the airport waiting for the flight to Christchurch where the next part of the adventure begins.....

Day 3 - singapore

Image
Packed day and I had  been awake since 4.30 !!!  First a walk down from the hotel to Marina Bay and the Sands Hotel skypark. Yes its on top of three very tall hotels.     We were whizzed up 57 floors to the top, the view was amazing.   The pictures dont do it justice.  I felt very brave given my fear of heights.  Then onto the Gardens by the bay,  which was beautifully laid out.     Once again big girl pants needed as we did the sky walk.  This one was a bit more scary as no glass and it moved when people walked on it.     Quick food stop  and then onto the MRT back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.  After a quick power walk and watching the rainstorm, we grabbed a cab and went to the iconic Raffles long bar.  i did do my hair but the humity waved again straight away 🤣 ...

Day 2 - a day of travel

Image
So we boarded the big bus yesterday evening and 13 hours later we touched down in Singapore.  Immigration was a bit of a palaver but they let us in.  We arrived at the hotel in the dark but have explored a bit of the local area. we are on the top floor and the view is amazing, we'll it is in the dark anyway.  It's difficult getting our heads round it's hot but they are playing Christmas music and the trees are up in the airport and the hotel.  Body clock is all out of sorts so planning tomorrow's activity and then bed.

Day one the adventure begins.

Day 1 so we are now at the airport slumming it in the lounge🤣🤣 ( thanks to Ali )  It was a bit fraught getting here  because of traffic at standstill a lot of the way.  We are checked in , through security and now just waiting to fo to gate      See you on the otherside.

Packing all done and this time tomorrow, we should be sat in the lounge at Heathrow waiting to board. Proud of myself getting a month's worth of travel stuff into a medium case!!

The final countdown

Well sort of, it was my last working day before we go and the last one for 2022.   It was a feeling of relief switching the laptop off, but previous to this steam was coming off the keyboard.  So 4 sleeps to go and we are off.

8 sleeps to go

Image
So 8 sleeps to go and today I packed my case and it all went in and the case shut.  That's a win in my books.  We are packing light and I'm sure I won't be able to resit the temptation to put something else in.   The hand luggage is probably going to be rammed full  😆 🤣

What's it all about.......

So time to tell you about the trip.  Leaving on 27th of December to eventually arrive back on  26 January.   Lyn and I will send 2 nights in Singapore.  Celebrate new year in Christchurch New Zealand spend a fortnight exploring both islands.  On to Sydney, more time exploring and then a drive along the coast eventually arriving in Melbourne for 2 nights before flying back.   We plan to spend time with Family and friends along the way.  9 sleeps to go and my biggest dilemma is how to get everything in the case.   Bye for  now x

First post : I really have no idea!!

Image
As the title states I really have no idea what I'm doing here, and if any one sees this they will probably agree, as well as it being a bit of a miracle!!.  I set this up to mainly share the experience of the trip that I'm about to embark on with Lyn, so a bit about that on the next post.  If I enjoy doing this I might document more things, and if I don't or can't be bothered this might be the first and last post.  So until then here's a picture of the wreath on my door. .......
